My friend just broke up with her boyfriend of just over a year. I know she really loved him so I gave her a hug. As I was walking away she opened up her door, thanked me, and told me I was awesome. That’s the nicest thing I’ve heard in a good while.

My best friend gave me a flowery paperclip, and after watching me inspect it and play with it for 10 minutes, she said that one of her favourite things about me was how easily pleased I am, and how lovely that must be. I know that’s more of an observation than a compliment, but she’s right, it is lovely! 😀

“You’re cute.” I get that every day from my girlfriend now. Being honest it means nothing to me, “I love you.” is starting to die too.
It’s ruining love for me, and this relationship.
