“reality” shows that over dramatize, celebrate the worst of society, and turn everything into a battle..cake wars, voyerism, insane kids dance teachers…sensationalism. I don’t have tv at home, but when I go to someones home or stay in a hotel..I realize how lucky I am to not be paying for that crap.

Pharmaceutical commercials. They make the public think they need drugs for things they may not even have and a lot (though not all) of doctors feel pressure to appease their patients by perscribing what their patents request even if they know their patients are not good candidates.

Racism, sexism, anti-gay and anything promoting bigotry. Really, if I had my way in what we would see no more of on TV, hardly anything would air; Society is messed up. I really do like your point, Janice, on how those particular ads seem to perpetuate fear and, to some, make them feel as if they aren’t “normal.”
