  1. Nitin:

I always try to remember that negativity is only temporary, and that the support system (such as my family and friends, and my passions) are permanent, and will always be there for me when I need them to be. I think to past events in my life, which have not only helped shape who I am, but have also restored my faith in trusting others. Most of the time, counting one’s blessings and acknowledging these small, minuscule things are all a person needs to help lift them up out of the darkness.

  3. Paul:

When in such a situation, if I cannot leave the situation, I try to keep in mind that others’ negativity is not MY negativity. If possible, I try to reframe their negativity into a positive statement or situation.

  4. Aiyana:

I tell myself that I’m not homeless, blind, or deaf, or going through any other horrible situation. Life goes on, so I also tell myself that I’ll get over the situation or person like I usually do.

Negativity for me is like the bridge Shrek and Donkey had to crossover. It shakie, unsecure and sometimes even dangerous! And don’t look down. That’s Negativity focusing on the problems. (the bridge) then do what donkey did. Look down, look around, look from where you have come, look where you are now, you half way across. Look at your situation smack bang in the face then look at your destination, and go get it. As I write this we are all been retrenched at our company, it’s not a nice bridge to cross there is tons of negativity from the staff. I and only I can say it to myself, “this is the best place you have ever been in your life!” and at 49 year old, I will have to do something that I have never done before. But I will crossover this bridge and as I do it I will enjoy the view.
